Agatha All Along: Rise of The Wiccan
In Agatha All Along, the character “Teen,” played by Joe Locke, has been the subject of much fan speculation and was revealed in Episode 5 to be Billy Kaplan, also known as Wiccan in the comics. Wiccan is one of Wanda Maximoff’s sons, and this revelation ties into the character’s complex comic history, including elements of reincarnation. Fans had suspected this connection due to multiple hints, such as his powers resembling those of Wiccan and his connection to Wanda
Some fan theories suggested that Teen might have been characters like Nicholas Scratch (Agatha’s son from the comics) or even Mephisto in disguise, but these were debunked with the reveal that Teen is, in fact, Wanda’s son
The revelation marks a major turning point for both the series and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as it ties back to events from WandaVision and the larger multiverse plotvTheories now focus on how the show will explain his reincarnation and how this affects the ongoing magical conflicts involving Agatha.
Obvioulsy, the character is already part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He first appeared as a child in WandaVision (2021) alongside his twin brother Tommy Maximoff. In that series, Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch) creates a reality where she gives birth to twin sons, Billy and Tommy, who are based on her comic book children, Wiccan and Speed.
While the twins were initially products of Wanda’s magical reality, they eventually disappear when that reality collapses. However, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022) teases the possibility of Billy’s return, hinting at the broader multiverse where alternate versions of characters exist.
In the comics, Billy is reincarnated and grows up to become Wiccan, a powerful magic user and a member of the Young Avengers. There are strong indications that Billy’s MCU storyline could follow a similar path, especially as the MCU explores themes of reincarnation and alternate realities

How Will The Wiccan Return?
Billy Kaplan, aka Wiccan, is expected to return to the MCU through several possible storylines tied to the multiverse and magic, which are key themes in the MCU’s Phase 4 and beyond.
-
Reincarnation and Multiverse: In the comics, Billy is a reincarnation of one of Wanda’s children, created from fragments of the demon Mephisto. This has led fans to speculate that Billy’s MCU return could follow a similar path. In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Wanda hears her sons’ voices, implying that versions of them still exist in the multiverse, which opens the door for Billy’s reappearance through reincarnation or multiverse travel
-
Wiccan and Young Avengers: Given the MCU’s trend toward introducing younger heroes (like Kate Bishop and Ms. Marvel), there is a strong possibility that Billy could return as part of the Young Avengers team, either as a reincarnated version or a multiversal counterpart. Billy’s powers as Wiccan could tie into larger magic-based stories involving characters like Doctor Strange, Agatha Harkness, or even Mephisto, depending on the direction Marvel chooses
-
Agatha’s Involvement: The Agatha All Along series has introduced a teenage version of Billy, setting up his potential future development. His connection to Wanda and Agatha could lead to further exploration of his powers and heritage
These elements set up multiple avenues for Billy’s return, whether through multiverse plotlines or magical reincarnation, aligning with the overarching magical and cosmic themes in the MCU.
